Completely redesigned for its fifth generation, the Carrera 5 Carbon combines Goya’s latest raceboard shaping knowledge with wave-inspired ergonomics to create what is arguably the lightest, fastest and most advanced freecarve board the brand has ever produced. The board is built for riders who want to push harder, sail faster and carve more aggressively without sacrificing comfort or control.

The shape centres around a race-derived bottom contour featuring a refined V and double concave through the midsection of the board. This design breaks down chop and smooths the ride at speed, allowing the board to remain composed and comfortable even in heavily powered conditions. Toward the tail, the V becomes shallower for cleaner water release and maximum acceleration, helping the board maintain exceptional top-end efficiency.

A wider tail and straighter rail line significantly improve planing performance and speed potential. The Carrera rises onto the plane effortlessly and carries momentum through lulls with remarkable efficiency. Once powered up, the board rides high over the water, flying cleanly across chop and open swell while maintaining a stable, locked-in feel underfoot.

One of the defining characteristics of the Carrera 5 Carbon is its wave-inspired deck shape. Unlike traditional freerace boards, the Carrera features a domed deck that creates a much more connected and natural stance. This improves leverage over the rails and gives the rider greater sensitivity and confidence during high-speed gybes and aggressive carving manoeuvres. The result is a freerace board that feels precise and responsive without becoming technical or demanding.

The rocker line has also been carefully refined to maximise both acceleration and control. A slightly higher entry improves comfort through rough water, while rear cut-outs reduce drag and increase release for greater speed and efficiency. Rounded rails through the front section provide forgiveness and smoothness, transitioning into sharper, more tapered rails through the tail for grip, drive and clean carving performance.

Construction is centred around Goya’s premium Carbon Monocoque™ technology. A continuous layering of biaxial, unidirectional and plain weave carbon ties the mast track, stance area, rails and bottom into a single cohesive structure for exceptional stiffness and responsiveness. Combined with full S-Glass reinforcement, Hyper Skin™ high-density sandwich construction and vacuum lamination, the Carrera 5 Carbon achieves an incredibly lightweight yet durable build that feels lively and reactive on the water.

The reduced weight transforms the riding experience. Acceleration becomes instantaneous, pumping is more efficient and the board reacts immediately to rider input while still maintaining excellent comfort over longer sessions. Additional refinements include the Quatro® Ultra Light Mast Box, redesigned slanted footstrap insert positions and updated KT Foiling® dual-density deck pads. The included MFC® Liquid Pro fin delivers strong upwind drive, rapid acceleration and predictable control at speed.
