JP Australia invented the FreestyleWave , so it's always a curious look at Werner's evolutions for this line. For 2018, JP's legendary all-purpose line has been completely updated, taking inspiration from the evolution of the Wave Slate. The shapes are now shorter and more compact, with more parallel rails to maximize the planing area. The tail has also been reworked, widening it, but not too much to reduce control on fast edges in chop.
The overall changes make the new 2018 JP FreestyleWave more wave-oriented than previous models without compromising the qualities that have made this board a global bestseller since it was launched in 2001. According to the development team, this is a livelier, more maneuverable, and faster shape than its predecessors. It's the most versatile JP board ever, but also comfortable thanks to a concave hull solution that cushions even the roughest chop.
Following the modifications made, the new volumes become: 79, 86, 94, 103 and 113 (see the specific table below), with Pro and Full Wood Sandwich construction. The Pro models are offered, as they have been for a few years now, with the 3 boxes and the G10 thruster kit, while the FSW models have only one box and the supplied fin is 2 cm longer than the one supplied in the Pro thruster kit. We will have the opportunity to try it out soon and offer you a test, since, as you well know, our Chief Collaborator from Como is a great fan of this model and will hardly let it slip away.
